Welcome to Our Vision Lab

The Vision Lab at Georgia Tech is housed in the historic Coon Building, on the corner of Ferst and Cherry Streets.

In the Vision Lab we focus on the role of perception and attention in how humans search for target information and make sense of the world around them.  We use both psychophysical methods and computational models to unravel the underlying mechanisms of perception and attention.   This theoretical research is closely tied with applied research in which we examine how perceptual and attentional factors interact with program visualizations that are designed to teach computer algorithms and how the fusion of visual and auditory information can synergistically enhance perception and performance.  We collaborate with researchers from other disciplines (e.g., computer science and neurology) in our research efforts.  The National Science Foundation currently funds some of our research.
